What is a Developmental Educator?
Developmental Educators are allied health professionals, registered with Developmental Educators Australia Inc. (DEAI), and recognised under the NDIS as capacity-building therapy practitioners.
In practice, this means Spectrum SA can assist you with:
Functional capacity and behavioural assessments
Development of individualised plans
Skill-building programs
Transition into education and the workplace
Disabiity awareness training, education, and ongoing capacity-building and therapeutic supports
Strategies to support social connection, communication, emotional regulation, and vocational participation
Collaboration with families, carers, schools, and allied health professionals to ensure supports are coordinated, practical, and effective
At our Gawler clinic, you are provided a welcoming base for therapeutic and capacity-building sessions, online tele-health, and/or travel where needed, to ensure accessibility.

This nation’s First Peoples are connected to the oldest continuing cultures on earth. We acknowledge the many Nations on which we live, work and enjoy life.
As a justice-oriented profession, we stand in solidarity with First Peoples in the continuing effort for social justice and autonomy.

We Support the LGBTQIA+ Community
Spectrum SA stands proudly as an ally for the LGBTQIA+ community and we celebrate the extraordinary diversity of people’s bodies, genders, sexualities, and relationships that they represent.

Acknowledgement of People with Disability
Spectrum SA affirms that people with disability are at the heart of our profession. We acknowledge the historical and ongoing injustices experienced by people with disability, and we commit to working in ways that uphold and advance their rights. We recognise and value their contributions within our profession, as well as the vital knowledge and perspectives they, their families, and their communities, share in both practice and research. Our work is guided by collaboration, respect, and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
